Oil on Linen. Artist Bill Worrell inspired me with his sculptures of the petroglyph figures of the Upper Pecos river. After viewing the sloping shelves of native drawings, I wanted to put a native animal among them; a cougar. I composed this painting by bringing those elements together, with sun highlighting the cat's fur, and the shadowy petroglyphs looming behind.
