An oil painting on prepared and stretched watercolor paper. Painted in one session, on location under the canopy of a natural trail of hardwood hammock. Part of an ongoing series of plein-air paintings documenting nature and man in South Florida. I have always gravitated towards nature and outdoor subjects, dealing with all its inherent challenges and opportunities. Inclined to a purist attitude towards painting and conservation. I focus on composition design, texture, and color with immediate and expressionistic brushstrokes. As a form of meditation and performance, I convey what I want the viewer to see and feel as they observe and appreciate my work.
